Mike is of counsel to the firm and part of our transactions team. A Greeley business attorney for more than thirty years, Mike has assisted clients in Greeley and throughout northern Colorado with all types of real estate and business matters. He has also handled bankruptcy matters for creditors and is widely known for his experience with and knowledge of community association’s law.
An avid and talented photographer, Mike received his business degree from the University of Colorado, magna cum laude, in 1975, and his Law degree from the University of Colorado in 1978. He is a third generation Weld County native and grew up on a farm east of Pierce. Mike served in the United States Army with most of his service time spent in Germany.
Mike is admitted to practice in Colorado and in the United States District Court for the District of Colorado including the United States Bankruptcy Court. He is a member of the Colorado and Weld County Bar Associations.
Having previously served as a prosecutor and later as a Municipal Court Judge for the City of Greeley, Mike is presently the Municipal Court Judge for the City of Evans and the towns of Garden City, Gilcrest, Platteville and Pierce. Mike has also taught Real Estate Law at Aims Community College. His practice emphasizes all areas of real estate law and business law, including commercial and residential transactions, protection and enforcement of creditors’ rights, planning, zoning and development, and the drafting, interpretation and enforcement of community association documents.
Mike is an animal lover and has served on the Board of Directors of the Weld County Humane Society. Mike enjoys traveling in the United States and abroad and cycling and hiking in Colorado. Mike and his family enjoy spending time in the family cabin adjacent to Rocky Mountain National Park. The cabin was built by Mike’s great grandfather over 100 years ago.
