Lee J. Morehead
A Greeley native, Lee is a member of our litigation and transactional teams. Lee’s practice focuses on probate litigation and oil and gas issues both in litigation and transactional. Lee assists clients on matters ranging from estate administration and conservatorships to mineral ownership and leases.
When Lee is not practicing law, he teaches continuing education courses across the Front Range at the American Dream Real Estate School. He also regularly teaches at the annual Weld County Nuts and Bolts Conference. For fun, Lee enjoys scuba diving, hiking, and is an avid fan of the Denver Broncos.
Lee received his undergraduate degree in International Business and his master’s degree in Legal Administration from the University of Denver. He graduated cum laude from Vermont Law School where he was a notes editor for the Vermont Law Review. Lee is admitted to practice in Colorado and the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado.
Lee recently graduated from the Weld County Leadership program and was inducted into the 2015 BizWest 40 Under Forty Leaders Honor Roll program. Mr. Morehead was voted one of Business Connect’s Top 20 Under 40 which recognizes the top business performers younger than 40 in Weld County.
Before joining Otis, Bedingfield & Peters, Lee worked with the Environmental Protection Agency as an enforcement intern where he enforced federal environmental laws. Since then, Lee has been practicing law in Greeley in the areas of oil and gas rights, probate matters and employment law. Lee is a member of the Colorado Bar Association and President of the Weld County Bar Association. Lee is committed to helping clients in Northern Colorado protect their oil and gas rights and navigate probate administration.
